About Bot Squad
Our Mission
To inspire and empower students of all ages to explore STEM through hands-on robotics β fostering teamwork, innovation, and community along the way.
Our Story
Bot Squad started with a single FLL team and a simple idea: kids learn best from each other. Today we run five squads across elementary, middle, and high school levels, competing in FIRST LEGO League, VEX IQ, FIRST Tech Challenge, and VEX V5 β plus our Tinker Squad for those who just want to explore without competing.
The Heart of Bot Squad: Mentorship
Our multi-age structure is designed so older students naturally mentor younger ones. High schoolers teach coding basics. FTC veterans help FLL teams with strategy. Middle schoolers who graduated from LEGO now guide the next wave. It's a cycle β you learn, then you teach.
- High schoolers guide younger members in programming, engineering, and competition strategy
- Peer-to-peer learning means every student both gives and receives help
- Soft skills like patience, communication, and leadership grow naturally
- A culture of giving back β today's students become tomorrow's mentors
Our Values
Teamwork
We achieve more together.
Learning
Curiosity drives everything we do.
Innovation
Creative problem-solving is encouraged.
Community
We share our passion and give back.
Our Coaches
Behind every squad is a team of dedicated adult coaches, parents, and volunteers. They don't build the robots β they empower students to build them. They provide guidance, resources, and a safe space to fail, learn, and grow.
