More Than Robots: Making a Difference Together

At Bot Squad, we believe in sharing our passion for STEM beyond competitions. Our members actively engage with the community, inspire younger students, and give back. This is another area where our multi-age team shines, as older students often take the lead in planning and executing outreach activities, mentoring younger members in public speaking and demonstration skills.

Our Community Activities

STEM Night

STEM Nights & Workshops

We regularly host or participate in STEM nights at local elementary and middle schools. Our students, from high schoolers down to middle schoolers, demonstrate robots, lead hands-on activities, and talk about their experiences to inspire younger kids.

Community Fair Demonstration

Community Fairs & Events

You can find us at local fairs, library events, and science expos, showcasing our robots and engaging with the public. It's a great way for us to share what we do and for our students to practice their communication skills.

Mentoring FLL Jr. Teams

Mentoring Younger Teams

Our experienced students often mentor FLL Explore/Discover teams (or other introductory robotics programs), helping them get started on their own STEM journeys. This reinforces the cycle of mentorship that is core to our team.

Tech Workshop

Coding & Robotics Workshops

Led by our high school members, we sometimes offer introductory coding or robotics workshops for kids in the community who might not have access to such programs otherwise.

The Impact of Our Outreach

Our community involvement is not just about showcasing robots; it's about:

  • Inspiring the next generation: Sparking interest in STEM in younger children.
  • Developing leadership: Giving our students opportunities to teach and lead.
  • Building connections: Strengthening our ties with local schools and organizations.
  • Giving back: Using our skills and passion to benefit others.
