FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Squads
Age Group: Grades 4-8 (Typically ages 9-14)
FIRST LEGO League Challenge is an exciting, hands-on program where students embark on a research and robotics adventure. Each year, a new real-world theme is released, challenging teams to innovate and solve problems.
What FLL Involves:
- Robot Game: Teams design, build, and program an autonomous LEGO robot (using MINDSTORMS or SPIKE Prime) to complete missions on a themed playing field.
- Innovation Project: Teams identify a real-world problem related to the annual theme, research it, and develop an innovative solution. They present their findings to judges.
- Core Values: FLL emphasizes crucial life skills such as teamwork, discovery, impact, inclusion, innovation, and fun! These are integral to the FLL experience.
