Tinker Squad
For: Anyone curious about robotics — no experience required, no competition pressure.
Not every builder wants to compete — and that's completely fine. Tinker Squad is our open-door program for students who want to explore robotics, coding, and engineering at their own pace. No tournaments. No deadlines. Just the freedom to create, experiment, and learn.
What Tinker Squad Is:
- Exploration-First: Build what interests you. LEGO, VEX, Arduino — we have the kits, you bring the ideas.
- Self-Paced Learning: No competition calendar. Work on projects week by week and switch whenever you want.
- Guided, Not Graded: Older squad members and coaches are there to help, not judge. Ask questions, try things, fail safely.
- Gateway Program: If you decide you want to compete later, you'll have a huge head start. Or just keep tinkering — that's cool too.
How Tinker Squad Works
Show up to any open lab session. Grab a kit. Build something. Our coaches and older students float around helping anyone who's stuck. Some kids build maze-solving robots. Others program LED light shows. A few just take things apart to see how they work.
There's no right answer here. Just curiosity.
